Transitional object, or comfort object is a term used to describe an object which is meaningful to a person, and which psychologically comforts and aids a person by representing a significant moment, place, or relationship. Transitional objects help us feel connected and integrated and we may rely on them for emotional support during periods of trauma, loss, or suffering.
Objects of personal meaning are photographed. The photographs exist in many forms. Digital images are used in slideshows and other multimedia formats, building jewelry sculpture, c-prints, and commercially produced photo objects.
